Borrowing heavily from the Ultra line, the Prime Bookshelf is packed with high-end technology and premium quality drivers, setting a new high-water mark for sound quality and performance value at this price point.
The crossover is the key to any great bookshelf, and our exclusive SoundMatch network is packed with quality components and exhaustive refinement for outstanding phase coherency and time domain behavior. The transition between tweeter and woofer is so smooth and seamless you’ll swear it sounds like a single full-range drive.
The front baffle of the cabinet is chamfered and the drivers are flush-mounted to reduce edge diffraction for a smooth high-end and outstanding imaging. Inside the FEA and CAD optimized cabinet is braced to eliminate resonances for an honest, neutral and uncolored midrange.

Comments about SVS Prime Bookshelf:
I am extremely happy with the sound of the Prime Bookshelf speakers. First off, I was very impressed the clarity of the sound.....very crisp highs and well defined mids. As far as the bottom end goes, it's quite impressive. To my ear these speakers sound much "bigger" from a bottom end perspective. Right now they're sitting on top of my old floor speakers so basically at stand height give or take. When I mount them high on the wall in my billiard room the sound will change so a sub may be needed to round out the bottom, which is what I expected. At any rate, I can't imagine these speakers sounding "bad" in any configuration. I should also mention the phone conversation I had with Doug from SVS prior to ordering the speakers...we discussed options, my receiver, power and subs for at least 20 minutes. Doug was very patient offering "old school" customer service which is rare these days.

Comments about SVS Prime Bookshelf:
The ash/matte finish is great in my opinion, no refection from the tv and easy to keep clean. These have great mids and bass response, along with the treble that is detailed and crisp but in no way at all harsh. They do just as well with movies as they do with music. I still cant believe the performance for the price being charged. And to be honest I like them so much I have no desire to buy the ultras as I have never heard them, and I am so happy with them. These with a sb12-nsd sounds as good as my dads older nht 2.9i towers and almost as sweet as my Yamaha NS-690ii. Buy them you will be happy, if not its an SVS product, you will be taken care of.

Sound is awesome.
The black wood finish could be better, not bad but just not as nice as everything else about the speaker.
