Kenwood XH901-5 X-Series 5-Channel Class-D Amplifier

Wife bought me a Kenwood DMX706s for Christmas. After seeing the vehicle specific KFC-XP6903c front components I decided to go all Kenwood. KFC-X3C for rear fill and P-XRW1202DB in the back of my FJ. Wow, this amp really brought the speakers to life and drive the sub great. It exceeded my expectations!

Great amp for the cost! Excellent for my 5 channel system.. front and rear speakers @4 ohms and sub in @2ohms.

Got this unit to replace another amp that wasn't powerful enough for my setup. Install was easy due to the allen key terminals and small footprint. My previous 2 amps were okay but would overheat and go into protect mode after 40 minutes of bumping it loud. So far i'm quite impressed with the sound quality and performance. I commute 2 hours per day and have put this thing through the wringer, and it hasn't gone into protect as of yet. And while it gets warm (which I expected for such a powerful amp in a compact package) it doesnt overheat and did'nt burn my hand when I touched it. Trying to find a solid 5 channel amp that doesn't break the bank can be tricky, but IMHO for the overall performance at this price point you cant go wrong.Pros:1) Easy install2) Great power on all 5 channels (running 4 Focal 6.5 speakers and a 12inch Kicker Truck Box and it bumps!)3) Compact enough to work with almost any setup (I have a Kia Soul and the Cargo space is minimal)4) High quality components/capacitors5) Great sound qualityCons:1) Not a deal breaker but it would be nice if the port for the Bass Knob wasn't on the opposite side of the RCA and Speaker Terminals2) The Gain Control Knobs are kinda flimsy and have gaps around them so you need to be careful when adjusting to avoid damaging them.3) The Bass Knob looks and feels quite Chintzy, even the knob that came with my old $80 amp is of better quality.

After paying for professional installation the unit did not have power at the fuses. To their credit, the return process was simple and a refund was provided four days later. No compensation for installation, though!
