Using to remote monitor a rural property. Property connected via satellite internet so lack of bandwidth makes standard cloud based video storage solutions (Ring etc) difficult to use. The ReoLink unit is perfect with its local SD card storage. Unit sends message to mobile app on detecting any movement. Photo also sent via email.Can connected remotely via mobile/pc app to replay any stored video on the SD card. Connected via wifi with remote access via NoIp DNS.Bit of fiddling to get the sensitivity and coverage monitoring area right to avoid false positives but process very logical.Perfect unit for the job... very happy !

I bought this CCTV camera with a sense of dread that it may not work particularly well or would be really difficult to set up. We had an electrician set up an external power point and from there installation was simple.The set up and connection to our home WiFi was also simple. However, my experience was to firstly do the set up before you mount the camera on a wall or ceiling. You do need to hardwire to your WiFi router for the set up.As to picture/ video quality - well it is scarily good. Scary - because you suddenly realise the quality of video the proliferation of CCTVs in the community are delivering.One final thought - I’d suggest you use a seldom used and private email address for the set up. When agreeing to ReoLinks privacy policy you are agreeing to provide a lot of access to your private information. Also the potential for Reolink to see everything your CCTV sees.
