A nice compact unit, sound quality is great.I had wasted money on a cheaper Chinese unit before this purchase. Absolutely no comparison. Only fault is the conection quick guide.I had issues pairing the unit, but with the help of Sena Australia's great staff, it is now operating wonderfully.Not a cheap unit but you get what you pay for, if you can afford it, dont hesitate.

I had one for my own bike for mobile phone and music.. loved it.. then I used it once as an intercom on a group ride... Wow, where have you been all my life... and then I thought about my sons riding their dirt bikes around the tracks and how handy this would be for coms. They're constantly stopping to yell at each other about something or another... so I got a pair of these and yep... it's a whole new experience. Not only can they talk to each other, but I can chime in with mine. It's great fun, and a seriously good safety tool as you're able to earn each other about hazards on the track etc . Make sure you practise pairing a few times before committing to a ride. Use the manual, and you can't go wrong.

After spending some time looking at various cheap chinese units and other reputable units, I settled on the smh10r for a couple of reasons. The first and most important to me was the low profile design and secondly because of Sens's reputation.I am very happy with this product and how loud it is. I have a very noisy helmet and even with earplugs in, was only using it at around 3/4 volume on a 330km ride yesterday at 110km an hour, on a sports bike with huge wind noise.From what I can see so far there are two disadvantages of this unit to some others. No radio and the battery can't be removed for charging once fitted. For me the low profile design and loudness are more important though.The bass of the music actually sounds better with earplugs in too for some reason.

The SENA SMH10R is a marked upgrade from the prior model (SMH10). A smaller, lighter unit it doesn't have the wind drag or weight bias that its predecessor did. In saying that, the whole helmet must be taken to the charging area rather than the removable all in one controller of the SMH10.4/5 from me.

High quality product, however the specified range is not accurate. 100-200 meters line of sight, 300 maximum.
