Brands include JBL, Pioneer, Kenwood, Hertz, Infinity, DS18, Black Diamond, Rockford Fosgate, Alpine, JVC, Hifonics, SoundStream, Sound Storm Labs and Boss Audio, with wiring kits from Aerpro, DNA and Stinger. Most current models are compact Class D designs. When choosing, match RMS power to your speakers or sub, check the impedance it's stable at, and look for high-level inputs if you're keeping a factory stereo. A 5-channel amp can run a whole system from one unit.
