Installation Kit
A quality installation kit lets your amplifier deliver its full power safely. These kits from Aerpro (Maxcor and Bassix), DNA, Stinger, DS18, Black Diamond, Boss Audio, SoundStream, Fusion and Nakamichi come in 0, 2, 4, 8 and 10 gauge, with 2 and 4-channel versions that add speaker wire and RCA leads.
Choose the gauge to suit your amp's power and cable run. As a guide from the kit ratings, 8 gauge kits suit amps up to about 600W to 800W, 4 gauge kits around 800W to 1200W, and 0 or 2 gauge kits are for 1500W and beyond. Power-only kits suit adding a sub amp, while complete kits such as the SoundStream WKIT-8 cover a full install. Stinger power wire is also available by the metre.
