subwoofer definitely adds to SONOS speaker sound experience. I brought one to put onto my pair of play1 speakers as they sounded good but didn't have the low bass kick I am used to. System sounds totally different now with dynamic bass, truly amazing difference. On a whim I moved the subwoofer to a room I have 2 play3 speakers in and the difference it made was truly amazing. Sub added low sound freqs that made system sound superior. Lastly I moved to living room that I have 2 play5 speakers in. Wife thought I was crazy to put there as play5 speakers already have good kick and range. Thinking that since the play5 speakers have good bass it wouldn't make a difference, boy was I/she wrong. it definitely improved the music quality dramatically. I'm not trying to be a sales person but once you hear the difference the subwoofer makes with any pair of SONOS speakers its hard to go without them. I currently have 3 subs (2 gen3 and 1 gen2), I cant really tell the difference between them. The only weakness in the SONOS sub is that they are pricey.

The Sonos ARC by itself is a fantastic soundbar - great design, great sound and love the effects the Atmos sound capability provides. I wasn't sure if the sub-woofer would add much value to the ARC, but I'm definitely happy I added the sub to my system. The sound is now fuller and the bass deeper - definitely makes a difference when I'm watching action movies where the sound and sound effects increase the movie experience. Wholeheartedly recommend the Sonos ARC and sub-woofer!

I'm impressed... the ability of this sub to produce deep/earth-shaking bass, but at the same time produce such a clean bass tone as well. I have to admit, I didn't want to spend this much for a sub for my Sonos Beam, but after using it for a week or so now, I regret nothing. I played some music the other morning and was in awe of the experience. I'm not planning on replacing my family room sound system with an Arc and Sonos Sub. The app and the components work together like peanut butter and jelly.

This is the best subwoofer I’ve owned. The bass is very clean sounding, and doesn’t shake or behave like most subs when the bass hits hard. It’s just very clean and balanced, but powerful. I added this to my Beam and two Sonos Ones to complete my system.I live in an apartment and thought the sub would be too much, but it’s just enough.

Hands down, best sub I’ve ever owned. Pairs and operates easily with the Sonos app and a MUST if you own the Sonos Playbar. (Add some One SL’s for the rear and you have an incredible sound / home theatre solution)
