Aperion Theatrus TS15 15" Passive Subwoofer

The TS15 is a passive subwoofer designed for home theatre, custom installations, professional music studios, and film studios. It unleashes a super force of sound quality. Although the speaker has a clear and elegant appearance, it's not just about the sound. In order to better control the acoustic of your room, a passive subwoofer needs a high-power dedicated separate amplifier. Ideally, this amplifier will have DSP, EQ settings, and even a crossover control.

The advantages of an extended pole piece in a magnet system are the foundation for designing the TS15 Aperion-crafted 15" driver. But in this case, Aperion took things a step further. Using the Finite Element Analysis simulation, they optimised the whole magnet structure and carefully shaped the pole piece to achieve symmetric flux distribution along the voice coil's travel path. This design strategy provides better driving force linearity. In addition, high power levels significantly reduce the moving system's DC offset and voice coil inductance modulation. As a result, there is considerably less distortion and better voice coil cooling.
