SMSL M3 HiFi Headphone Amplifier DAC Optical USB Powered Audio Decoder

I was hesitant to bother with a Dac/Amp because my Macbook Pro was doing a decent job of powering my Sennheiser 58Xs but I'm happy that I did. While it's a not a night and day difference, the sound is definitely tighter and the bass is more noticeable. It also looks nice on my desk and was a breeze to setup. Power is definitely there as I need to get to 45% volume before it becomes too much.

This is not going to be a super detailed review. All I am going to say is that this little box is a great DAC and AMP for the price. The AMP is plenty enought to drive 32ohm headphones to the point where they make you deaf. The DAC is great quality, although lacking in bass by a tad. Things to note is that: 1) The output is a 1/4 jack but it comes with a 1/4 to 3.5mm adapter and 2) On micro USB it only dose 24bit / 96khz (which is all you need). You need digital input for 24bit / 192.

Grabbed the HD6xx from drop.com but the volume was pretty low and didn't seem "full." I purchased this DAC/Amp because of the great reviews, small-size and price-point...Plugged it into the USB and plugged my headphones into it and saw an IMMEDIATE improvement in sound. I'm no audiophile but damn this helped a lot.

This boosts my headphones power and volume significantly. At general use after plugging and playing, I only have to have the notch at around 20-25% to listen to my music/games/movies at a decent level. If you need an AMP for your headphones this is the one to get.

Ridiculously ... incredible. For the price, it is, according to my point of view, the best entry into the world of audio and fidelity. Headphone output, RCA output, Coaxial input and USB input working from the first moment, it would still be necessary to test the digital optical input, but I do not have what to do at the moment. Simply connect, turn on and enjoy. Excellent construction, solid, and a priori, very durable. As for handling, it's really simple, hold down the only button to turn on and off, and to switch between connections, just press.

Works great for me so far. I use it to plug my headphones into my ps4. Good audio quality. Build quality seems solid. Lots of different ports.

This will help you drive headphones with high impedance very easily. I personally use a Lenovo tablet charging adapter, also 2.5A.When plugged into my computer's USB ports, it could barely power my T50RP MK3's at full volume. With an external power supply I swear I'll go deaf if I crank it to the max!This thing is a beast and is even better with a good clean power supply, I can't stress it enough!

I purchased a set of Sennheiser HD6XX from massdrop. Unfortunately the volume was very low when plugged into my computer when using them. I purchased this DAC/Amp, plugged it into the USB and plugged my headphones into it. This addressed the low volume problem and now the headphones sound great.Once note, when using the amp you can adjust the volume in applications still; however, the default Windows volume control has no impact on the sound. In order to adjust the overall volume you have to use the knob on the front of the device. Maybe there is a way to change this, I just haven't investigated.

I've set up an affordable audio system that connects to my computer after extensive research to get the best possible sound for my study room. My SMSL M3 was the missing link! I'm super happy with my setup now, and the sounds from hi res audio, Amazon Music, Youtube Music, and Netflix are just perfect for me. You don't need to spend a lot of money to get high quality sound; just some time & patience to research.

4 month now and still running strong, i do not turn it off, its always on with my computer, running opt cable at 24bit 192hz, update realtek on board sound newest version, smsl m3 doesnt come with software, but pc equalizer helped A LOT, made my sennheiser hd 598 alive and gaming,
