Questions & Answers
Will this player only play 3d movies or can I play regular DVD's and blu rays as well I want to know if I can play regular blu ray and DVDs on this player. I have a regular 4k curved tv, but it isn't 3d. Will this player only work with 3d movies?
You can play regular blu rays and DVDs on this player.
I have a Samsung smart HDTV (not ultra HD). Will this work on my regular Samsung smart HDTV (not ultra HD)? Planning on getting an UltraHD TV next year but want to know if I should wait.
Yes, it will work fine with a smart Samsung TV. That is what I hooked it up to.
What cords needed for a hookup? Do I need HDMI, USB or Ethernet?
You need an HDMI cable for the output signal to get to your TV or HDMI source switch. If you had a good cable from before going to this player, it would work fine for this one; otherwise, it is a good idea to get a better cable than the cheapest ones for this bandwidth of the signal. You don't need an Ethernet cable as it has Wi-Fi. You need to connect to Wifi to plan on using the apps on the BD player. The apps in this unit are useful but could be redundant if you have another device that has apps (the TV itself or you have another app device like Roku, AppleTV, etc.)
4k conversion Does this play upscale to 4k movies? Or just photographs? Does it have an HDMI 2.0?
As best I could tell in the short time I had it, it does upscale most content (especially Blu-Ray DVD) to near 4K quality.
