How many HDMI ports are there?

There's only one HDMI port.


Does it have the "smart-on" feature, so all I have to do is turn the TV on without having to turn the soundbar on, too?

Yes. The soundbar should enter standby mode when the TV is off, and automatically wake when the TV turns on.
