Questions & Answers
Is steam cleaning safe for pets?
Yes, unlike other household and domestic cleaners, a steam cleaner contains no chemicals or toxic soaps. This implies that steam cleaning is safe for your cherished pets, children, and other family members who may have allergies or sensitivities.
Does this kill bacteria?
Yes. Your steam cleaner's heated vapours successfully eliminate germs, developing fungi, and any dust mites residing on practically every surface in your home. Steam cleaners are incredibly effective and dependable for cleaning bathroom tiles, sanitising kitchen surfaces, and spot cleaning upholstery.
Does this unit have a boiler and what are the safety features?
The MC1375 does have a boiler-style heating system. A Thermostat controls the heating element of the boiler. When temperature to produce steam is achieved, the thermostat switches the electricity off to the heating element. If the thermostat fails, it immediately switches back to normal functioning. A fuse will eventually disconnect power to the machine, preventing an over-pressure mechanism, allowing pressure to be released if the boiler becomes over-pressurized.
When I first started using the steamer, water came out. Why?
It is usual for some water to dispense from the unit when initially being used. As the unit is heating up, condensation builds up in the nozzle or the hose. Water may be dispensed when you use it for the first time but will turn into steam momentarily.
Is the distilled water necessary?
Although McCulloch recommends using distilled water, you may use tap water depending on the hardness of your water. However, hard water will cause your steamer to collect mineral deposits which could shorten the life of your unit.
Can chemicals be used in this steam cleaner?
No, MC1375 is designed to emit pure vapour free of chemicals. By adding chemicals, you may damage the steaming unit.
Why does the steam coming out of the unit feel cool and not hot?
When the water temperature reaches 212 degrees, your McCulloch steamer will produce steam. When the steam hits the air, it will turn back into water and cool.
