Garmin Instinct Solar GPS Watch Tactical Edition Moss 010-02293-14

I thought I wanted a watch i could talk on like a phone, but what I have is a watch that answers my phone...can't talk on it though. What I like is my sleep analysis, heart rate, O2 SATS, steps, and the stress exercise has on my body. I have had this watch about one week and still learning how it works as there is much more with navigation and maps that i haven't figured out yet. It was confusing trying to get it operational even with the videos, but if you push the buttons enough times you begin to learn what thus watch can do. It may be complicated and have a lot of bells and whistles, but I really like what I am learning about my watch and myself! The battery is a 28 day battery and I haven't plugged it in since fully charged. Using the data alot will drain the battery...I have been in the sun getting solar power chargesq and using the data many times non-stop learning how to use it!

Easy to use and lots of functions! I love this watch and use it everyday to track my health along with my location. I record everything from my hiking trails to sleep patterns. The area calculation is also a nice feature for calculating acreage. Worth the money I recommend.

Love the watch! My complaint is with the screen protector that was sent with it. Poorly made as it leaves a very noticeable gap around the watch face. Luckily I had bought a two pack screen protector with my other instinct purchase that worked better.

FIRST DAY REPORT....I like it, nice update of my favorite activity watch. Picture from first 11 mile hike today!Owned the original Garmin Instinct from the time it was introduced, always appreciated that the battery easily outlasts any other smartwatch that I have tried in serious back country hiking. As an avid hiker and surfer I did always wondered why the original had no surf app function, and with original Instinct serving me so well it was an easy decision to order the updated INSTINCT SOLAR-Surf Edition.It arrived last night, got charged to full and at 5am today it started getting used hard: over 11 miles of hiking today, more miles of walking and bike riding with three of those apps using full GPS and heart monitoring going non-stop. Lots of bright SUNSHINE for hiking and walking and biking and the solar intensity meter is showing a solid day for solar support. Nonetheless, cannot expect miracles for the solar support with all apps and widgets running, I drove the battery down from 19 days estimate at current settings to 9 days in just 1 day. So, if you are power pig with all apps running do not expect miracles from the solar cell support, got to make smart choices on what apps are running if you want to go day after day without charging it. I have the Surf Edition and will try the Surf App for the first time tomorrow morning and post more, but so far I like the update, battery lasts better than original, software has a lot more control and user customization, and finally there is a surf app! Having tortured the battery the first day I will do the classic battery saving settings that I used with original Garmin Instinct so it would go a a full week of back country hike use. Changed back light down to 10 percent, cut way back on notifications, shut off gesture turning on the back light, using UltraTrac for GPS, shut off heart monitor when not in an activity, etc.

Great device. Exactly what I wanted. Works great.

Works very well so far. Going to be very useful in son's training.

Great complement to my shooting setup. Integrates so easily with my phone and other equipment. Rugged and easy to read in all lighting conditions. Very happy
