Comments about SVS PC-2000:
This sits in my 18x20x9
living room and pairs nicely with Def Tech ProCenter 2000 and A/D/S L1290/2
floor standing speakers.
After running Audyssey setup it felt a
little underwhelming, after some manual tweaks to the base settings from the
auto setup (turned the crossover up on all of the other speakers) this thing
sounds fantastic and has little-to-no distortion at "theater" listening
volumes.
Leaving the gain at about 1/2 o'clock produces really nice
bass and fills the whole house with sounds. The only downside is that it
tends to sound muddy when the gain is turned up much further than that. This
could mostly be related to the size of my room, sub placement, etc. but it's
something to consider. It's not going to shake your house, but you'll feel
this thing kick when it needs to.
Prior to purchasing this, I tried
the Def Tech SuperCube4000, returning that and going SVS was one of the best
decisions for my Home Theater that I could have made.

Comments about SVS PC-2000:
I decided to step up from a JBL unit purchased many years ago. Room is very big, 18x28 with cathedral ceiling, and has 3/4" Oak flooring. The 7.1 surround speakers are Polk RM8's which are small for such a room but enough for me. I wanted cleaner base and to fill the room but not to overpower the satellite speakers. It has only been a few weeks and I have not pushed it hard but I truly feel the bass is much cleaner and/or crisper. I like the footprint being minimal but the height makes it stick out in the room. It does not hide in a corner by any means.

Comments about SVS PC-2000:
Right out of the box, the PC-2000 resonates with "look at me" aura. When stood up and packaging removed, before you even plug this beauty in, you just want to stand back and admire the lines, curves and humble beckoning of her. Then, plug her in, turn the dB to -10 on the receiver and you are floored by her understated reach in feeling the depth of bass notes. The simple addition turned by HT from a sound stage to a symphonic orchestra. Only problem now is that I have to soundproof the HT to make the family happy...darn the luck!

Comments about SVS PC-2000:
This is my first real sub.
Before this I only had a 200W sub from the Energy Take Classic 5.1 package.
This sub has a lot more potential than that.
I am still exploring
with the PC-2000, to see where it can lead me to...

Comments about SVS PC-2000:
I've had a variety of subwoofers in the past, velodynes and acoustechs most recently. The PC-2000 is vastly superior in tone, clarity and punch...and the power is jaw-dropping. With a dedicated nine speaker set-up in the media room, I've emphasized the PC-2000 over other sub because the sound and pitch is much more crisp and effective. I couldn't be happier with the purchase and am thankful to a friend's recommendation. Buy American-- I think the best subs on the globe are being made in Ohio!

Comments about SVS PC-2000:
In our new house, my old 200
watt subwoofer hyperventilated. I was introduced to SVS by the AV Rant
podcast, then spent weeks comparing spec sheets and reviews. My wife said
the SVS cylinder designs "look neat" and would be "interesting to show off
to friends."
I received my pre-order early in December. At first, I
set my receiver crossover to 80 Hz, then played a few movie scenes and
songs. Everything sounded tight, crisp, and deep. The PC-2000 melded into
the soundstage with precise starts, stops, silence, and slam.
SVS
support recommended buying a sound level meter (set to "slow" and "C"
weighted mode). I bought one and level-matched my speakers and sub. My
efficient tower speakers were playing several dB hot. I cut them down to the
proper test tone level, and tweaked the distance settings in my receiver.
After level-matching, I turned up the amp knob higher to see how it would
fill the room. I played the 'Arena' and 'Light Cycle' scenes of Tron Legacy.
WOW! It was AMAZING. The room pressurized and the walls vibrated. Movie
explosions and music tracks hit with total clarity at high volume.

Comments about SVS PC-2000:
My old subwoofer was having interference issues from poor shielding. So that means time for an upgrade. After countless hours of research I kept running across SVS. So the PC-2000 fit the bill for my theatre requirements.... It was a gamble getting it due to shipping fees to Alaska. All I can say is this subwoofer gets loud, low, and super clean for a ported subwoofer. It blends in seamlessly with my rt55i/rti a3/csi a6 speakers. Music sounds great, and lfe effects in movies are handled with authority! Great job SVS. The build quality is top notch and the new cloth finish is mint. It disappears when the lights go out. If your theatre specs out for this subwoofer, you need to give this sub a try. As a side note this thing has to be experienced to comprehend what a proper subwoofer is capable of.
