Heavy for me , but awesome if you have a vest to help support it

I really love this , there are some issues , the phone connectivity is a little issue, and the weight for me is heavy .But overall I would recommend this product

AK4000 review

I have several friends who told me about this gimbal . With what you get for the price you can not beat it . Setting up was very easy for me surprisingly. There was no cables for Nikon but when I contact the company they rely back right away and sent me cables for my Nikon . Other than that this gimbal is very sturdy And very smooth when shooting . Very much needed upgrade from my glidecamIf you can not afford the DJI Ronin S this is the gimbal for youOnly downfall I have is that I wish they had hard shell cases for this gimbal . The styrofoam case isn’t the most professional bag to be carrying around

Very Powerful Gimbal for heavier payloads at a very Reasonable Price!

* I wanted to upgrade to a gimbal that can handle much heavier cameras such as Canon 5D Mark IV, Panasonic GH5/GH5S or S1 with big lenses (Sigma 18 - 35mm F1.8, Canon L series 24-70 F2.8 lenses) and use with added attachments (microphone, follow focus, external monitor, light, external hard drive/batteries, etc) when needed, and the AK4000 seemed to fit the bill with its 150g to 4Kg payload supported specs.* I also didn't want to spend too much money (I really want to avoid giving money to DJI because they always tend to overcharge for their Ronin series) because I tend to upgrade gimbals as the tech evolves fast. I had previously owned Zhiyun gimbals, Nebula gimbals, and even the little brother AK2000 to this AK4000 which I loved but felt it wasn't able to handle as heavy payloads as I would like to (2.8kg with AK2000 vs 4kg with AK4000). I wanted something that could handle heavier payloads to the AK2000 and add on more attachments and make use of a dual handle grip, while keeping the slanted design to view what I was shooting.* Being familiar with the AK2000, the upgrade to the AK4000 seemed like a no brainer. Everything feels familiar yet you get a lot more with this AK4000 Kit which includes the Gimbal but also the Dual Handheld Kit with a Ring Style grip handle and the newer AKF II follow focus, and even an extension rod to create crane like shots.* I have only had the time to test it on a GH5 and a 12-35mm lens which is a quick setup to balance and be ready to shoot when I'm in rush with a client, and I always test my new gear this way so that I can easily compare with my previous equipment and see how it fares.* Balancing is similar to the AK2000 and most other gimbals to be honest, and it will take you a little longer the first time to get it balanced but after a few trials, you will be very quick at it (search on youtube for AK4000 setup balance videos for tutorial). I like the quick balancing with the AK series once you are used to their system.* The added benefit of the AK4000 that can handle heavy payloads gives me the peace of mind when I use it with the GH5 or my 5D Mark IV, as it allows me to easily attach all kinds of accessories (microphones, tentacle sync, light, external monitor, etc) while being sure that the payload can be handled. With the AK2000, I sometimes felt it was a little to heavy and now with the AK4000, I have that peace of mind.* In terms of build quality, this thing is very well built with buttons placed at the right place (controlling knob to the left side, center navigation button, very useful LCD screen). There are many features and many function modes that it takes a while to master them all (AF vs AF-R, TF vs TF-R, LK vs LK-R, HF vs HF-R). I do like all the quick easy modes you can rely on though, and there are a lot of videos online on youtube to help you master this very powerful and versatile gimbal.* It also comes with the Dual Handle Grip which you don't get with the AK2000, and gives you the extra flexibility to use your gimbal in different ways, with more attachments (external monitor, light, hard drives, etc), than just with the single handle grip. I do really like that added flexibility if/when I need it.* The follow focus servo which comes with the kit is also a great add-on, and it takes a little getting familiar with it, to get it setup properly so I went to youtube to get it done properly. Once setup, you will love the power of having follow focus available via the big round knob on the left hand side of the gimbal handle and love being able to control the focus manually and remotely this way while shooting.* Payload Settings: Similary to the AK2000, the AK4000 needs a quick adjustment to be made via its submenus to adjust the payload settings to avoid micro-vibrations, and what you do is swipe on the LCD screen to the left to get to the second submenu where you'll see a 'Payload setting' submenu with different settings: Auto-Adapt vs Level 1 to 5 and custom ones, with Level 1 being the lightest to Level 5 being the heaviest. Once you have chosen your desired level, you just turn off the gimbal and turn it back on for the setting to be set. I settled on Level 3 for the GH5 and 12-35mm lens and I didn't notice any micro vibrations. I know people complain about it online yet I do really like that extra customization you can have with it.* Having used both the AK2000 and AK4000, I feel that they are very similar in terms of operation yet I love the added extras that the AK4000 offers at a reasonable upgrade cost, that still make the AK4000 much cheaper than a Ronin S. So I definitely am very happy with my decision of staying with Feiyu in lieu of going with Zhiyun or DJI Ronin.* One last note: The case that comes with it is nice though I still feel it would benefit from something more than styrofoam. Also I would suggest Feiyu to find a way to allow the gimbal to be placed inside the case without having to undo all the settings made for your camera/lens setup, so as to avoid rebalancing every time you open the carrying case. I realize this may be hard to do, but something to ponder for future gimbals/cases. Luckily at least with the quick release plate that is provided, you can easily remove your camera without losing the balancing once done.* In summary, I think this is a great gimbal that is powerful to handle heavy payloads with extra attachments, and offers a lot of degrees of freedom while staying pretty light (not much heavier than the AK2000 and comparable to the previous Zhiyun Crane 2 or Plus i used). It comes with everything you need to being able to shoot in all kinds of conditions with the single and dual handle grips. You get the follow focus attachment as well as an extension rod and an accesories attachment plate, and because it supports heavier payloads, you will be having that piece of mind that the gimbal can handle the extra weight. Having used many gimbals throughout the years, I am very satisfied with my AK4000 thus far and will be using it on my upcoming feature film. I will add more impressions if things change in the future, but so far so great at a reasonable cost (you save hundreds of dollars vs Ronin S and get a lot more in my opinion, so why pay for a brand that overcharges for everything...).

Great buy for price

Great amount of items for purchase. App wasnt the greatest and pairing wasnt clear. Battery life was great but I felt better using another brand.

It's a pretty good little machine.

For the money, it's a good deal. There are quirks about it that you have to learn to deal with. For example, if it isn't absolutely perfctly exactly balanced, you'll have an annoying vibration, the 8.8 lbs of max payload is probably a bit too high, the follow focus is tricky, if it works at all, app is awful, UI on the touch screen is not intuitive, ect. But once you spend time with it, it gets the job done. You just can't expect to shoot a movie out of the box. It takes some time.

No locks for the mottors.

It's heavy. The battery life was awful only 4 hours... and the follow focus made a lot of noise.... hard to control the record button on my camera due to the fact was not comparable with my sony. And one thing i don't like is not easy to take with you.
