Great speakers. I put 6 of them in a Ford Excursion to replace the factory speakers. Very clean highs and mids. I am adding a 10 sub for a little bit more bass though.

Totally worth the few extra dollars
I have always resisted purchasing "overpriced" car audio elements. I needed a more efficient set of speakers for the front of my Ford truck (running off an aftermarket Sony head unit), so I bought a set of Dieci 5x7 coaxes on a few recommendations. Rarely has a simple change made such a drastic difference. The previous Skar speakers had an efficiency rating of 87 db. The Hertz set were rated at 93 db. They were much louder at the same volume as the Skars, but very smooth, controlled and pleasing. Much better highs due to the PEI dome tweeter. You simply cannot go wrong with Hertz. I now want to explore other offerings from this very impressive company.

Speakers are great ....vendor was excellent too
I replaced my factory speakers in my 2012 Ford Taurus Limited with these speakers. Using the same factory audio system (the premium system, not Sony System) these speakers sound outstanding...their high efficiency allows great sound from the lower wattage amp which comes with the car. As my car has a 5th speaker in the middle of the front dash, I order an extra pair. Found that this speaker was actually smaller than the others (3.5"). I explained this to the amazon vendor and they gave me a RMA without question with no restocking fee. Great speakers - lots of bass and excellent definition in the midrange and high end. Highly recommend these units.

Sound is very good, but they don't last.
The first time I purchased these speakers was through a local stereo shop. The speakers were matched to the stereo that was also purchased and installed by the stereo shop. After about a year, one of them failed. So, I purchased these speakers through Amazon which were a direct replacement, installed both of them in my car, and they failed once again within a year. I would not recommend these speakers because they just don't last.
