Solid unit and works very well

I installed this in my 2003 "daily" driver so I could have Apple Carplay. The installation was very straight-forward and fit the GM stock radio (double-din) very well, so long as you have the correct installation kit. The backup camera is very sharp. Sharper than some newer cars. Lag time is minimal for this price point. It has the ability to do custom screen desktops. Sound quality is very good. You can't go wrong with this one!

Best on the market

I love this radio! I tried a couple others but I wish I got this one first! This is the best price in the market for the price.

Best modern infotainment system

I did not expect to like this as much as I do.I recently purchased a 2008 Nissan XTerra, most owners of this vehicle swap out the built in stereo for an aftermarket unit. This particular XTerra had a dated Sony head unit put in it that was showing its age, so I needed to pick up a replacement unit asap. After checking the big box stores, I saw a review for the Android based Atoto A6. I was blown away by the system. I then discovered this unit, which is Linux based instead of Android based.Yeah, it has to launch every time I start the car (so does every modern infotainment system in every vehicle) but it loads fast, has Android Auto built-in, and connects seamlessly with my smartphone via bluetooth. It has both internal and external mics (external gets better sound) and the usb for the Android Auto is built into it, but will fit in an aux bracket.I love my stereo.

Atoto makes one of the best cheap radios.

Installed in my 2006 Chevy Avalanche LT. Install was easy. Very easy to set up. Sound is amazing display is better then most big name radios. Overall I give radio a solid 9/10. Will definitely buy again for other vehicles.

Zero regret, 100% satisfaction

For the money you can’t beat it. The only head unit I’ve found with CarPlay, Android Auto and, all the other features for the price. I also like how you can have your vehicles logo pop up when it boots up. My next head unit will be an Atoto for sure. Last but not least hands down the best customer service I’ve ever experienced with any product ever, and that’s saying a lot. Thanks again Amy for going above and beyond.

Perfect mix of functionality, quality and price

I will start with my conclusion if you don't feel like reading my detailed review: I'm satisfied with this in-dash entertainment system. It is a perfect PRICE/QUALITY/FUNCTIONALITY mix. More importantly, I can keep my eyes on the road and drive safely. If you are looking at my review, you are probably searching for a practical, simple, and reliable solution to update your car stereo system. Let me explain why I chose ATOTO F7 initially and my experience after two weeks of daily use.Excellent screen: It is bright, crisp, and colorful. The touchscreen works well.Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Carplay works flawlessly. I have not tried Android Auto, but I assume it works just as well.Phone Call Quality. The call quality is good. On my end, I can hear callers very clear. Calling from a car sounds good, but you can tell that person is on speakerphone. Siri can understand me OK too.Simplicity. This radio runs on Linux, which means a clean interface and only functions that you need, without clutter. You won't be able to install apps like on Android. For me, it means I don't have to pay for features I will never use.Tactile Controls and Steering Wheel Controls (Clickable Buttons). I like to operate my radio without taking my eyes off the road. Buttons are located under the screen and easily accessible by a passenger. I connected factory Steering Wheel Controls, but if your car does not have them, you can buy a remote from ATOTO to attach to your steering wheel.THE PRICE! At $159, it is a good deal in my book. I bought it with a backup camera, ATOTO AC-HD02 (Stereo+ camera $200 before tax). Everything feels well designed and made. ATOTO has been around for a while, and it is also known for responsive customer support and frequent updates.Sound Quality. It should have been #1, but you can't judge it unless you install it in your car. It is not an audiophile stereo, but it produces a clean, loud sound.Expandability. It has plenty of inputs and outputs to customize the system to your needs. You can connect rear and front cameras, two external monitors, an amplifier, and a subwoofer. You can also add plenty of storage via a MicroSD card and external hard drive.Simple installation. Quite important considering the price of this unit. Professional installation could cost about as much as this unit itself, so you will most likely be installing it yourself. Instructions provided with F7 are clear and concise. Making connections took me less time than finding out how to take my dashboard apart. How all this translates into daily use?It takes about 10 seconds for a system to boot (backup camera available almost immediately, before the boot is complete) upon starting a car. Usually, I don't need Carplay if I'm going for a quick drive, and I keep my phone in a pocket. It connects to Bluetooth seamlessly and reliably. No user input is needed. Bonus: I can see the phone battery level on the screen. My options at this point are:Radio: (FM and AM), strong signal, stations are programmed automatically.Phone: I tested both built-in and external mics and was told that the external one provides slightly better sound, so I decided to go with it.BT Music: (streaming music using any app on the phone)MicroSD card: up to 512 Gb is supported. I use a 64GB card ($10); it fits my entire offline collection of music (MP3 and FLAC files) and about 20 movies with space to spare).Front USB: I'm not sure if I will use it, but it's a nice option to have. All this provides more than enough entertainment if I'm in 'Offline' mode.If I want to use Carplay, I connect a USB cable, and in a few seconds, Carplay loads up. From there, you can use all apps supported by Apple Carplay. If you are looking at this unit, you probably already know why you need it.I can't find any cons with it, but I have a few suggestions for ATOTO:Add favorites to Radio Interface - even though I rarely use the radio, I listen to a few stations I like. It would be nice if I could get to them quickly.Microphone Clip - I was astonished to find that microphone has a lavalier style clip (the one you can clip on your shirt). There is no place on my dashboard where I can attach it. Any microphone I looked at on Amazon has a clip that can be hooked on a visor or glued to the dash.Eventually, I found a way to get it attached to A-Pillar trim.Guidelines Adjustment for a backup camera - there is no way to see the picture and adjust the lines simultaneously. It's ether video from the camera or screen in the settings menu. I got crafty and marked what I needed on the screen with a painter's tape and then aligned the lines to a tape glued to the screen. I only had to do it once, so it's not a big deal. But WHY?Video Player Aspect Ratio Selector - I played multiple video files and was very glad how the unit handled video and screen quality. My only issue, files are being stretched to fill the screen. I wish there were an option for the original aspect ratio.Mirrorlink/AutoLink - it is supposed to mirror your phone's screen to the unit, and it does, but there 2-3 second audio delay, which makes it useless for watching videos. I can't think of any other use for this feature and probably will never use it.Add Wireless Carplay - adding WiFi to a unit would not cost much for ATOTO, but it will make this stereo highly desirable and competitive. Again, it's not a must-have option but would be nice to have.As you can see, none of my suggestions are not a dealbreakers or affect daily use, but they would make this product PERFECT.I hope you find my review helpful, and it will make selecting your next car stereo a more painless process.
