HRM Tri for paddle sports

Much more accurate than wrist based heart rate monitoring, water resistance makes it convenient for paddle sports.

Excellence from garmin

Works perfectly for bike and run. This is my second one. The first lasted almost three years running and biking almost daily. I may have got it to last longer if I followed the care instructions and rinsed it regularly. In fact...the electronic are still working. It's just the belt shown major wear after three years. I'll look after the new one and see if I can get longer. Excellent product.

The HRM with all the bells and whistles... If you have the right Garmin

This strap is comfortable to wear and light, with features that reduce rubbing.Support for hrv tracking with accurate r-r intervals reported and recorded by some Garmin watches is great feature, but you need the heavy lifter devices, such as Fenix 5 and forerunner 945 multistory watches to capture that. The Garmin apps also do not display the hrv data in a meaningful way, so you should donate to runalyze and have runalyze keep and track your intra-activity heart rate variability.Heart rate accuracy is very very good, with excellent tracking and no lag, even on low resting heart rates where they can either double count or half count on other devices, especially if you have a large diastolic Rebound curve and optical sensors.Running dynamics, similarly, needs the more advanced Garmin watches to make sense of, but is very useful and appear accurate.Garmin has let me down with these devices, though, and if they fail have offered no recourse even if covered by warranty period. That is the most disappointing thing about them. My last one lasted 18 months of 3-4 hectic activities a week.Store session and upload later works well, but difficult if you do not start recording on watch and leave it behind before activity and then upload at end. Tedious to manually upload requiring manual activity, upload, connect, download, download, manual add fit file to website.., very tedious. In water tracking hr is good quality.Would look at the polar hr10 and their optical options. Would have purchased that if I was certain the Garmin would correctly use r-r intervals reported by the polar which is both ant+ and ble.The Garmin HRM trip is ant+ only, but not because it needs to be... At this price it should do both and interoperate better with other fitness tools.Read full review...

Like all Garmin Products it just works

It works as described easy to link up using ANT+ to my Garmin watch and some nice extra data on your run and bike legs. Have not tried it on the swim yet
