Jumped ship from Ubiquiti

Having just jumped ship from Ubiquiti after getting burned by them too many times to count, this is a very refreshing experience. I purchased the GWN7630 and swapped it in where my Unifi NanoHD was. Speeds are immediately 100 to 200 Mbps higher, and are stable and consistent. I still have a second NanoHD in the back of the house, and all of the clients in my house has jumped from it to the GWN7630 LOL. The cloud management UI is intuitive and provides all of the features necessary for a successful AP install. I am a very satisfied customer.

By far one of my favorite APs.

I have been using UniFi AC LR for many years now. I also have used them in my own home. Due to changes UniFi has made I have noticed considerably slower wifi speeds on the 2.4 network. So I decided to give the gwn7630 a try. The user interface on the cloud is very streamlined. It is simple to setup and manage. Out of the box I was able to get double the 2.4ghz speeds over the Unifi. The gwn7630 has a range that almost matches the Unifi AC LR on both paper and in testing. They also make a gwn7630lr that reaches almost 900 feet. (I have not yet tested that).I was able to power the gwn7630 with my Cisco Meraki PoE switch and then use the 2nd port to plug into another switch.I would highly recommend these for home or business use. The gwn cloud has many features that I look forward to testing in client networks.

Makes for great WiFi Access Points

A solid performer with the controller embedded within the product’s web user interface. Easy to set up and manage. I have had great success with other Grandstream products and this one sure does not disappoint.

Incredible deal for the specs; great home wifi setup

I had a single Unifi UAP-AC-LR access point that I was using to service both floors of my house, and I wanted to add a second access point to improve coverage on the bottom floor. Rather than buy another UAP-AC-LR, I decided to try this GWN7630 since it is a wave 2 access point, and it supports standard 802.3af/at PoE/PoE+ (I think the newer HW revisions of the UAP-AC-LR support standard PoE, but mine did not). I have had the access points for a couple of weeks, and so far I have been happy. I have them connected to a TP-Link TL-SG1016PE switch, and have had no issues with the PoE+, which is great (I am happy to get rid of the extra power injector I had to use with the Unifi AP). Speeds have been fine (but I have not-great internet service through CenturyLink, so I don't have a great way to test how it would handle a fast internet connection). Coverage with the 2 GWN7630's (1 on each floor) is noticeably improved versus the coverage from one UAP-AC-LR (so the "long range" part of that AP is apparently no substitute for just having more access points).I like the built-in controller. There is no need to run a controller on a separate PC, or to hand over control of your devices to the cloud. I also like the support for 802.11r/k/v, which seems useful for a setup with multiple access points. I have all three enabled, and have had no compatibility issues with my devices (it says I have 18 things connected across the 2 APs at the moment). I didn't really buy this for capacity (1 AP should be able to handle 18 devices just fine), so I can't comment on how well this would handle a super-dense environment.I don't really understand the second ethernet port on the AP. This access point does not support link aggregation, so I think it is there to behave like a switch if you want to plug something else into the AP. I have no idea what you would plug in to an access point on your ceiling though (and I don't think the second port has PoE out, so you couldn't plug in something like a camera or some other IoT doodad, which is all I can come up with that might also make sense to mount on a ceiling).Overall, a pair of GWN7630's has been a great upgrade from the single wave 1 long-range access point I had previously.

Best access point for the price

Great product, i use the cloud controler which is free, excellent user interface, very fast and the range is great. Best access point so far.

Not ready for prime time in July 2019

The firmware is slow and the interface is quite poor. Not enterprise, not even prosumer, and at the price, definitely does not beat the alternatives. Returned to vendor, who was very good about it, all things considered.
